Service of Process

Service may be made through the Office of the Secretary of State, Business Services Division. The Secretary of State carries out this function under the authority of the New Mexico Statutes Annotated 38-1-5 NMSA, 38-1-5.1 NMSA, 38-1-6 NMSA, 38.1-6.1 NMSA, 53-17-15 NMSA, 53-14-7 NMSA. Trademarks

Means any word, name, symbol, device, or any combination of these used by a person to identify and distinguish the goods of the person, including a unique product, from those manufactured or sold by others, and to indicate the source of the goods, even if that source is unknown. Agricultural Liens

Registration of a security interest in farm products by filing an Effective Financing Statement with the Office of the Secretary of State. A report that you receive quarterly that provides all information for all Agricultural Liens registered with our office. Click Here for more information.

Facsimile Signatures

Any authorized officer may file a manual signature with the Office of the Secretary of State. An “authorized officer” means any official of this state or any of its departments, boards, agencies or other instrumentalities, any county, municipality as defined in the Municipal Code [Chapter 3 NMSA 1978], school district, other district, educational institution or any other governmental agency, political subdivision or instrumentality of registrar, paying agent or transfer agent with the United States whose signature to a public security or instrument of payment. Uniform Athlete Agents

Provides for the registration, certification and criminal disclosure for athlete agents seeking to represent student athletes, who may be eligible to participate in intercollegiate sports. The law requires athlete agents to disclose their education, training, and experience, and whether they or an associate have been convicted of a felony or crime of moral turpitude.
