2019 Local Election Candidate Information
The Secretary of State is pleased to release the Local Election Candidate Guide
The Guide serves as an easy to use reference for candidates who are seeking local office in the November 5, 2019 Local Election.

2019 Regular Local Election Proclamation
The Secretary of State hereby issues the public proclamation calling for the 2019 Regular Local Election to be held on November 5, 2019.
When to File
- Candidate Filing Day: August 27, 2019 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Write-in Candidate Filing Day: September 3, 2019 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Deadline to Withdraw: September 3, 2019.
What to File
Each candidate filing to appear on the 2019 Local Election ballot must complete and submit the following forms to the County Clerk’s office on the designated filing date:
Affidavit of Designation if required
Candidate Campaign Committee Registration if required
Where to File
Each candidate filing to appear on the 2019 Regular Local Election ballot, must file in the County Clerk’s Office in which they are registered. To verify your county of registration, please visit our Voter Information Portal.
*Please note certain districts are multi-county districts and should be filed in the county clerk’s office in which the candidate resides.
