SANTA FE – New Mexico’s State Canvassing Board met today in Santa Fe and unanimously certified the official results of the recent special election in Congressional District 1.
The official, certified results for the Congressional District 1 special election can be viewed on the Secretary of State’s website.
“All elections in New Mexico undergo rigorous certification procedures, including an independent audit, to ensure the accuracy of the results,” said Secretary Toulouse Oliver. “The State Canvassing Board is the final step in the certification process and I’m pleased to announce that we had another successful meeting of the Board today. Voters should have the highest level of confidence in these official election results and in the conduct of the recent special election.”
The three members of the State Canvassing Board – Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver, and State Supreme Court Chief Justice Michael Vigil – all attended the meeting today. The Board voted unanimously to certify the results of the 2021 Congressional District 1 special election.
During the meeting, the Board signed the certificate of canvass and certificate of election that make the results of the special election official.
