Section 1-4-27.1 NMSA 1978, terminates a voter’s registration who has been convicted of a felony. A voter is eligible to reinstate their registration after completion of their term. The Secretary of State shall work jointly with the Corrections Department and the Administrative Office of the Courts to cancel or reinstate a voter who is ineligible or need to be implemented into the voter registration system. The Secretary of State shall carry out and enforce the provisions of this section.

2008 Electoral College. The five Presidential Electors from New Mexico met on December 15, 2008 at the the Secretary of State's Office to Certify the Presidential vote for the 2008 General Election. The Electors are from left to right: Alvin Warren, Christy French, Brian S. Colon, Secretary of State - Mary Herrera, Annadelle Sanchez and Thomas R. Buckner.
